FROM THE SHORES OF EELAM TO THE TABLES OF MONTREAL
Nectola began not in a boardroom, but on the open sea. In the early 1990's, a young man left his homeland of Eelam with little more than the memory of its vibrant tastes and a job on a merchant ship. The voyage was long, but his destination was clear: Montreal, Canada a city of new beginnings.
Arriving in a new country, he found much to love, but one thing was missing. Amidst the bustle of his new home, he couldn't find the taste of his home. He craved the bold, unmistakable flavours of Eelam — the real taste of tropical fruit, the kind that reminded you of sun-soaked days and family gatherings. The sodas here, he thought, were simply too quiet.
Driven by that craving, he started small, blending real ingredients in his new Montreal kitchen, trying to capture the essence of the flavours he missed. Word spread. Friends and neighbours were captivated by these drinks that actually tasted like something real and vibrant. And so, in the mid-90's, Necto was born a Taste of Eelam, crafted in Canada.
For decades, Necto was a beloved secret, a connection to heritage in every bubbly sip. Now, in 2026, that legacy evolves. We are proud to unveil Nectola, a rebirth of those original 90's recipes. We've stayed true to our founding belief bold, refreshing, and made with real ingredients but we've refined our craft for a new generation.
Today, Nectola is still inspired by the classic soda fountain flavours that brought people together, infused with the soul of Eelam and the spirit of Montreal. Life's too short for boring drinks. We're here to make sure every sip sparks joy, just as it did for one homesick immigrant over thirty years ago.
